What’s So Great About Hunter Boots
I continue to wear my Original Tall Hunter Rain Boots year after year because they’re practical and stylish. Although Hunter Boot Ltd. (originally called North British Rubber Company) has been around since 1856, they completely changed the rubber boot game in 1981 when Princess Diana was spotted wearing her Hunters for her engagement photos, and again in 2005 when Kate Moss was seen sporting them in Glastonbury. Since then, their Original Tall Rain Boot have become the most iconic rain boots to ever hit the market.
But that’s not the only reason why I love them. First and foremost, I love them because they’re comfortable and the fit is exceptional – I recommend going down at least half a size. They’re also super easy to get on and off, and for those who have wider calves, you can purchase the adjustable version for a better fit. I can literally wear my Hunter boots all day long on a cold, rainy day without my feet hurting.
Another reason I love these boots is because they come in many different colors and patterns. I currently own them in lavender grey because it’s one of my favorite colors and they look great with my light grey rain coat. Of course, the Hunter green color is iconic and the glossy black color looks super stylish and goes with everything. But the color that you choose is really a personal preference.
During colder months, you can also purchase boot socks to give your Hunters a bit of insulation so that your feet don’t freeze to death. Welly socks are a fun and unique way to personalize your boots. They come in different styles (i.e.; fleece, cable knitted, cardigan knitted, etc.) and a range of shades to compliment the different colors of Hunters available.
Lastly, I love Hunter boots because they’re durable, long-lasting and easy to clean. Over the last five years, I’ve only owned two pairs of them and that’s only because I wanted a new color. So, if you’re in the market for a new pair of rain boots, you should really invest in a pair of Hunter boots. They’re pricier than your average pair, but they will last you a long time and look dapper on your feet.
