Exercising should be fun!
Hi Friends,
Let’s talk about exercising. Everybody knows that exercise is sooo important to health and overall well-being. But sometimes, motivating yourself to clock-in an hour at the gym can feel like a struggle. Well, I’m here to remind you that exercising can and should be fun. Hence the title of this post, How to Make Exercising More Fun.
Find an activity that you love to do (i.e.; tennis, rollerblading, etc.) and grab your partner, your kids or your best gal pal to join in on the fun. (Investing in some cute exercise clothes helps with the motivation part). Admittedly, during the winter time I struggle with this because winter in the Pacific Northwest is incredibly rainy and dreary and all of the outdoor activities that I love require relatively nice weather. But now that it’s spring, I’m happy as a clam because that means that my husband and I can take our daughters along on hikes and bike rides. We let our 5-year-old stop on hikes to pick up sticks and rocks, and on long bike-rides we always pack a picnic and take a break to let the girls play at the park. Recently, we went on a 23-mile bike ride around Lake Sammamish and stopped at the halfway mark to lunch and let our girls play and they were troopers. It’s a family affair 😁.
Other activities that I enjoy include kayaking and paddle-boarding because they allow you to enjoy nature and self-reflect. When I’m out on the water I feel a sense of peace and tranquility. What are your favorite ways to exercise? Also, if you love exercising as much as I do, you may want to check out this guest post: Most Comfortable Leggings to Workout In.
XX,
P.S. I think we wore our 5-year-old out on our last hike (see pic above 😄).
